Permanent exhibition of the history of Kvilda and Bučina
There are few villages as small as Kvilda that can boast a permanent exhibition depicting the history of the village.
In our municipal museum we collect all the information and artefacts related to the way of life and work of our ancestors. The exposition is divided into several parts characterizing the history of the region. Archival documents are presented with colour copies (e.g. documents from the 14th century and a map of the Kašperské hory Golden Trail from 1736).
The exhibition is located on the first floor of the municipal office building in Kvilda, a former school. On the staircase there are clear maps of the stable cadastre, period photographs, postcards documenting the wider surroundings.
The actual exhibits were borrowed from the Gefilder Heimatstube (Museum of Kvilda) of the Mauth municipality, from the surrounding Czech museums in Sušice, Kašperské Hory, Vimperk, Netolice, the state district archives in Prachatice and Klatovy and from private individuals.
Come and see us and you will not be disappointed.
